Flowers of the Floating World - Published in 1897 - 1898, Shuntei Miyagawa's series "Flowers of the Floating World" (Ukiyo no hana) depicts women and girls in scenes from everyday life throughout the year. From cherry blossom viewing or taking a winter stroll to arranging flowers or playing music, these charming images offer a wonderful look at life in Japan during the Meiji era. Some designs feature deluxe printing techniques such as burnishing, embossing, or accents of metallic pigment. A lovely beauty series by Shuntei Miyagawa, rarely seen.
