Beauties of the Twelve Months - Lovely portrait from Hirezaki Eiho's circa 1910 series "Beauties of the Twelve Months (Ukiyo bijin juni ka getsu). These attractive images feature women in daily activities, from a mother carrying a baby on her back to beauties reading, sewing, or strolling. These charming Meiji era designs have a handsome painterly quality. Hirezaki Eiho worked extensively as an illustrator for magazines and newspapers, and is perhaps best known for his kuchi-e images of beautiful women. A rarely seen series and a nice choice for a collector interested in bijin prints.
