The 47 Ronin, Act 5: The Yamazaki Highway - Great scene from act 5 of the kabuki play based on the tale of the 47 ronin, "The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers" (Kanadehon Chushingura), of the villain Sadakuro attacking the elderly Yoichibei as he travels along the Yamazaki Highway one night. The old man reacts with alarm as the rogue brandishes a sword at him. Sadakuro ends up killing Yoichibei to steal his money bag. In the distance at center left, Kampei is out hunting, carrying a gun as rain slants across the black night sky. Nicely detailed.

Condition - This print with good color and detail as shown. Thinning at edges, repaired. Wrinkling, creasing, slight toning and soiling. Please see photos for details.
