Kiyonaga (1752 - 1815) Japanese Woodblock Reprint
Women at a Bathhouse

Comments - Wonderful Kiyonaga scene of women enjoying an afternoon at a public bath. At right, a young mother washes her son's face with a cloth as the child protests. A few of the women wear lightweight cotton robes while others have stored their clothing on the wooden shelves at right. At upper left, a man peeps at the beauties through a small window, a detail often omitted in reprints of this famous subject. An attractive large format reprint offering a glimpse of life into Edo era Japan.

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 19 1/8" + margins as shown
