Beauty with a Gourd Bottle, 1867

Comments - Charming portrait of a beauty holding a bottle made from a gourd, smiling happily as she walks along, her sleeves swinging with the movement. Her kimono is shaded from blue to yellow and patterned with large blossoms, including peonies, morning glories, lilies, and chrysanthemums, tied with a golden yellow obi shaded in orange. Behind her, a spit of land dotted with pine trees extends into a bay, with a few sails in the distance and a mountain shaded in gray beneath the night sky. An attractive design.
