Female Prisoner and Magistrate, 1879 - Intriguing kabuki scene of a female prisoner with her hands tied behind her back appearing before a magistrate. She leans forward with a defiant frown as the judge stares back at her, a sheet of paper on the cloth-covered table before him. The scene is divided diagonally, with a man in a black suit and purple bow tie at left and a commoner in a striped kimono at right. An unusual subject, detailed with burnishing on both black suits.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three attached panel, backed with paper. Vertical folds. A few wormholes, repaired. A few creases. Please see photos for details.
