Daikoku Dreaming of a Procession of Rats

Comments - Interesting portrait of Daikoku, one of Japan's famous Seven Lucky Gods, dozing with his chin and hands resting atop his magic mallet. His dream appears in a whisp of blue smoke above, with rats in kimono enacting a daimyo's procession. White clouds drift across the base of Mt. Fuji. Rats are associated with Daikoku as they are often found where food is plentiful (such as the bales of rice behind him). At lower left, a falcon sits on a perch beside him. An intriguing and unusual image.
