Thirty-six Selected Beauties - Reflecting back on the classic beauty prints of the previous era, Toshikata's lovely "Thirty-six Beauties" series illustrates the daily activities of women from various time periods and walks of life. A geisha practicing the shamisen, a beauty in her private quarters, an entertainer crossing the river on a ferry--these charming scenes wonderfully capture life in Japan throughout the ages. Beautifully printed, many of the images feature deluxe techniques such as delicate embossing or burnishing, along with soft bokashi shading. A delightful series, great for collecting or display.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two attached panels, backed with paper. Slight separation at ends of vertical centerfold, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a couple spots. Please see photos for details.
