Scene from Senzai Soga Genji no Ishizue, 1885

Comments - Handsome scene from the kabuki play "Senzai Soga Genji no Ishizue" of a shirabyoshi dancer performing, accompanied by two men playing a flute and a hand drum. She strikes a pose with a folding fan in one hand and her sleeve tossed behind her head, looking up at one of the musicians with a concerned expression. A pine tree frames the red sky behind the group. Nice large expressive figures.
