Printer's Proof from the Uchida Publisher Archives - This is a rare printer's proof from the archives of the Uchida Art Company of Kyoto. This trial proof features notations in pencil in the top margin. It is a black key block with the coloring added by hand, with uneven edges to the pigmented areas when examined closely. The colors are also lighter than in the finished print. A fascinating look into the artistry and painstaking process of Japanese woodblock printing. An unusual and interesting addition to a collection.
