Famous Places in Tokyo: Illustration of the Emperor and Empress Leaving the Temporary Imperial Palace at Akasaka, 1881 - Handsome view of the Meiji Emperor and Empress leaving the Temporary Imperial Palace, each riding in a separate horse drawn carriage. Soldiers stand guard outside the large entrance gate, while another group waits on horseback a left with a crown gathered behind them to watch. Wonderful detail in this historic subject, with burnishing on the black areas of the carriages.

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 28 1/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Losses at edges, a few holes, repaired. Creasing, wrinkling, slight toning and soiling, ink marks. Please see photos for details.
