Minamoto no Yoshitsune and Retainers, 1855 - Interesting group portrait of Minamoto no Yoshitsune surrounded by his retainers, all dressed in armor and ready for battle. Yoshitsune sits at top center beneath drapery bearing the Minamoto paulownia crest, a black fan with a red sun on it in his hand. At bottom center, the loyal warrior monk Musashibo Benkei grips a naginata, a monk's hood wrapped around his head and a huge wooden mallet extending above his back. Nice expressive figures, each identified with a yellow name cartouche.

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 1/2" + left margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at edges from previous mounting. Horizontal centerfold. Small loss at corner, a few holes, repaired. Wrinkling, creasing, slight toning and soiling. Please see photos for details.
