Samurai and Beauty with a Naginata

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a couple in an interior, the samurai gripping his sword as he looks up with an angry scowl. The beauty holds a naginata, the sleeves of her pink kimono tied back with a yellow sash, ready to fight if needed. Paulownia blossoms and leaves decorate the red wall behind the, with yellow dotted clouds framing the scene. The actor at right is Ichikawa Sadanji. Nice expressive figures, detailed with metallic pigment that has oxidized to a dark tone on the beauty's hair ornaments and the blade of the naginata.
