Nihonmatsu by After Shotei (Takahashi Hiroaki) (1871 - 1945)

Original After Shotei (Takahashi Hiroaki) (1871 - 1945) Japanese Woodblock Print
Nihonmatsu

Comments - Attractive shin-hanga winter scene with two people strolling along the shore as evening falls. Boats are moored at lower left, and warm yellow glow comes from the lamp post, the lantern carried by one of the people, and the windows in the distance. This print is not by Shotei, but is based his design, with the addition of Mt. Fuji in the background and the lamp post. It is falsely signed "Hiroshige," likely to appeal to the tourist market.

Artist - After Shotei (Takahashi Hiroaki) (1871 - 1945)

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 6 1/4" + margins as shown

Condition - Excellent overall with no issues to report.
