Comments - Terrific Meiji era scene of a train arriving at Yamashita in Tokyo, smoke billowing from the steam engine and passengers visible through the windows. At upper right, another train heads in the opposite direction, having rounded a curve through the mountains. In the distance at upper left, a team of horses pull a streetcar. A great illustration showcasing the modernization of Japan during the Meiji era.
