View of Shinobazu Pond, 1889

Comments - Handsome panoramic view of Shinobazu Pond in Ueno, with a walkway leading to the small island housing a shrine to Benzaiten. At bottom, a few women climb the steps to the Kiyomuzu Shrine, each carrying an umbrella. A blossoming cherry and a willow frame the scene. Includes embossing on the white kimono collar and the white cloths wrapped around the beauties' hair. An interesting perspective, nicely detailed.

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 1/4" + margins as shown
