Warriors and Matron - Interesting kabuki scene of three warriors and a matron in an interior. The samurai at upper left appears to be tossing roasted soybeans up in the air, a custom known as setsubun that took place in the New Year to chase away evil spirits and welcome in good luck and prosperity for the coming year. He frowns angrily, though, and the warrior just below him seems agitated, throwing out one hand before him. The young samurai seated at right looks up with a slightly worried expression, the matron behind him eying the fellow at upper left. A colorful design with expressive figures.

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 18 1/2" + margins as shown
