Dozaemon and Oshichi, 1872 - Handsome kabuki scene depicting the young man Dozaemon in conversation with the beauty Oshichi. Sitting in the center, he looks up at her with an angry frown as he takes hold of the dotted towel draped over his shoulder, a tobacco pouch in his other hand. The beauty tilts her head and smiles sweetly as she adjusts a hairpin. At left, the lady's maid Osugi leans forward with an eager grin, watching the couple intently. From left, the actors are Ichikawa Monnosuke V, Bando Kakitsu V, Bando Hikosaburo V, and Sawamura Tossho II. Nice large figures set off by a deep red background and a simulated black lacquer frame. A handsome design.
