Comments - Charming Yoshitoshi triptych depicting the Meiji Empress and her ladies-in-waiting enjoying a poetry writing contest. The woman take brush and poem slip in hand as they take turns composing verses under a blossoming cherry tree arranged in the center of the room. The Empress stands at right wearing a purple outer robe and an ornate headdress, a folding fan in her hand. Wonderful detail in the elegant setting and finely embossed white kimono. An attractive scene from courtly life during the Meiji era.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three attached panels, backed with paper. Slight toning, soiling, and rubbing, a few creases. Please note, due to the size, this print may be shipped rolled. Please see photos for details.
