From Fuji Arts' Winter Exhibition of Chikanobu

Boat Ride at Kameido Tenjin Shrine - Incredible scene of beauties enjoying a boat ride through the water at Kameido Tenjin Shrine. A small girl in the front of the boat excitedly tosses rice cakes to the koi fish bobbing to the surface, smiling happily to her companions. The two women are right are busy composing poems, one holding a completed poem slip with a verse and the other clasping a brush. Delicate purple wisteria blossoms hang gracefully from the arbor overhead, creating a canopy of flowers over the walkways. A curious man in a black bowler hat watches from the drum bridge at right. An absolutely gorgeous triptych by Chikanobu, with a beautiful setting, lovely color, and exquisite detail in the kimono fabrics. A real masterpiece and a wonderful choice for display.
