A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

Courtesan Kakemono - Handsome kakemono or vertical diptych portrait of a courtesan. She wears an outer robe with an embossed pattern of leaves bordered with a blue print of stylized phoenixes and clouds, over a kimono with a design of autumn grasses and leaves along the edges. The collar of her under robe features an unusual motif of swimming fishes. Her hair is arranged in two large loops, adorned with tortoiseshell combs and hairpins with gourds. The first time we've seen this nicely detailed design.
