The Seven Flowers of Autumn at the Hyakkaen Garden

Series; Beautiful Women at Famous Places

The Seven Flowers of Autumn at the Hyakkaen Garden - Lovely scene of a beauty and two girls strolling through the Hyakkaen (One Hundred Flowers) garden, admiring the "seven flowers of autumn." The older girl leads her sister by the hand as they walk along a path, the young girl smiling and waving a fan. Their mother follows behind, enjoying the blossoming grasses and shrubs. Small wooden signs identify the varieties of plants. A charming image with soft color and a very painterly feel. Detailed with light embossing in the beauty's kimono, and metallic silver pigment that has oxidized to a dark tone on the folding fan and the girls' obi. A great design from this rarely seen Gekko series.
