Series; Ushijima Noriuki Print Collection, 1st Set
Ushijima Noriyuki - Born in Kumamoto, Ushijima Noriyuki studied Western painting at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts, graduating in 1928. He worked primarily as a painter until WWII, when he began creating woodblocks. He received the prestigious Order of Cultural Merit in 1983. His semi-abstract designs feature simplified shapes, soft color, and fine shading, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. His works are rarely seen on the market, and are a great choice for a collector interested in modern Japanese prints.
