Pagoda of Ninnaji Temple in Snow

Fuji Arts' Winter Shin-hanga Exhibition

Nisaburo Ito - Born in Kyoto in 1910, shin-hanga artist Nisaburo Ito created many woodblock prints of flowers, landscapes, and noted shrines and temples around his hometown. Some of his designs reflect his study of nihonga or traditional Japanese painting, while others take on a more modern expression. His floral and nature subjects are beautifully rendered with wonderful attention to detail and color. His attractive prints are a lovely choice to collect or display.

Pagoda of Ninnaji Temple in Snow - Wonderful view of the five-story pagoda of Kyoto's Ninnaji Temple under a gently falling snow. The dark rich tones of the spire contrast beautifully with the soft grays shading the snow and the deep blue sky. A lovely serene winter landscape, beautifully composed. Would make a terrific framed display. Published by Uchida on watermarked paper.
