Two Samurai in an Interior - Unusual kabuki scene depicting two samurai in an interior. One sprawls on the floor, looking up over his shoulder with a grimace as the other man leans over him. At lower left, a kettle and a large red lacquer sake cup rest on the floor next to a sword. A screen above depicts splashing waves, and the circular motifs featuring clematis blossoms decorate the panels lining the back of the room. Nicely detailed.
