The Warrior Iwanaga

Comments - Great kabuki portrait of the warrior Iwanaga, a retainer of the Minamoto commander Shigetada. He grimaces angrily as he looks to the side, holding one sword out above his head, his other hand tucked into his robe. He wears a blue kamishimo patterned with dragon medallions and lightning bolts over a black kimono and red under robe, his bushy sideburns sticking out at the sides of his face. A nice expressive figure.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 13 1/2" x 9 1/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Slight soiling at edges. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
