Souvenirs of Edo - Lovely woodblock print from Volume 2 of Hiroshige's "Souvenirs of Edo" (Ehon Edo Miyage), an illustrated book of landscapes originally published in ten volumes from 1850 to 1867. These attractive designs feature beautiful and well-known scenes around the city of Edo, from cherry trees in bloom to pedestrians walking along a riverbank, capturing the highlights of the capital in all seasons. According to the preface of Volume 2, "If one has never seen Edo, to look at this book is sufficient: this is the best souvenir to take home or abroad." Finely detailed and softly colored, these delightful prints offer a nice opportunity to inexpensively purchase an original Hiroshige for your collection.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two separate panels. Stitching holes at one side of each panel. A few wormholes, repaired. Soiling at edges. Please see photos for details.
