Sneering Man by Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
Sneering Man

Comments - Great kabuki portrait of a man sneering angrily as he looks to the side, his brows furrowed. His red kimono features a diamond pattern with scattered white cherry blossoms and buds, worn over a blue tie-dyed robe, a dotted towel draped over his shoulder. The alcove behind him holds a hanging scroll. A nice expressive figure.

Image Size - 13 5/8" x 9 1/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. Small loss, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, slight rubbing at edge. Please see photos for details.
