Musician and Beauties - Interesting kabuki scene of a princess and two women in an interior, with a musician at left holding a shamisen and frowning angrily as he looks back over his shoulder. The matron in the center strikes a pose with a folding fan in her outstretched hand as she stares intently at the beauty, who returns her gaze with a slight smile. Floral motifs decorate the panels lining the back of the room with a rolled up blind above and a red sky outside. Nice expressive figures, detailed with metallic pigment that has oxidized to a dark tone on the cluster of flowers adorning the princess's hair and her kimono.

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 28" + margins as shown
