Sumo Wrestlers Arguing, 1902 - Interesting kabuki scene of two sumo wrestlers arguing. The man at lower left looks up with an angry grimace, his brows furrowed. At upper right, his fellow wrestler glares back at him as he clutches a pipe in one hand. The beauty in the center tries to intervene placing her hand on the sleeve of the man at right while watching the other fellow with a sober expression. The beauty at lower right seems alarmed. The verandah behind them overlooks a view of the evening sky framed by willow trees at left. Nicely detailed with burnishing on the black kimono and fine line work in the hair.
