Yorikane in a Bat Kimono, 1947 - 1852

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of the nobleman Yorikane standing in a garden, wearing a striking black kimono patterned with white and yellow bamboo, bats, and gourds. He looks up with a suspicious frown as he holds a folding fan near his face. A blossoming cherry tree frames the scene above fences made of brushwood and woven strips. Nicely detailed.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 14 1/2" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Vertical and diagonal wrinkles. Small loss at edge, a few holes repaired. Creasing, slight toning and soiling, a few spots. Please see photos for details.
