Strolling through the Yoshiwara on a Spring Night, 1888

Comments - Lovely triptych depicting women strolling through the Yoshiwara on a spring night. A beauty in the center wears the latest Western fashions, including a bustled overskirt, gloves, and a bonnet adorned with flowers and feathers. At right, two women pause to look back at the beauty, the one at far right wearing an imported fringed shawl over traditional dress. A low fence encloses blossoming cherry trees in the center of the boulevard, with teahouses lining the street beyond. Beautifully detailed and colored, with embossing on the white kimono collars. The first time we've offered this attractive Chikanobu design.

Image Size - 14" x 27 3/4" + margins as shown
