Series; Eight Views of Kanazawa
Eight Views of Kanazawa - In his "Eight Views of Kanazawa," Hiroshige introduces a variation on the traditional theme of "Eight Views of Omi" by shifting the locations to the town of Kanazawa. During the Edo era, Kanazawa grew to become an important city as the seat of the powerful Maeda clan. These attractive landscapes are rarely seen in reprint, and provide an interesting comparison with Hiroshige's "Eight Views of Omi" series. Beautifully colored and printed, with fine bokashi shading.
