The 47 Ronin, Act 1: Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine: The Helmet Inspection - Handsome scene of the confrontation outside the Imperial Palace. Lord Moronao stands at right in black court attire, glaring angrily at Lord Wakasanosuke, who kneels in a blue robe. Wakasanosuke came to the defense of the lovely Lady Kaoyo, Lord Hangan's wife, when Moronao made advances towards her. Hangan wears gray robes emblazoned with the crossed hawk feather mon or crest of his clan, while his beautiful wife stands nearby. Terrific detail in the palace with a lovely landscape beyond.
