Group Portrait of Samurai and Monks, 1864 - Interesting portrait of a group of samurai and monks accompanied by a banzuke or list across the top. At bottom center, a samurai wearing a straw raincoat and a straw apron looks up with a frown as he lifts his hat above his head. At the bottom of the right panel, an elderly warrior with long gray hair leans forward aggressively while a ninja dressed in black stands behind him. Several komuso or wandering monks with deep basket hats are included. Nice expressive figures, finely detailed.

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 29 1/2"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three attached panels, backed with paper. A couple tears at edge, repaired. Toning, soiling, curling, a few stains. Please note, due to the size, this print may be shipped rolled. Please see photos for details.
