Beauties and Men - Interesting Meiji era print depicting a group of beauties and men. In the center, a man in Western dress lifts his top hat, a watch chain visible on his vest. A circular inset beside him shows a man in a coat with a fur collar holding an umbrella that extends out over the inset. At lower right, a fellow with a full body tattoo of a snake and clouds sits on the ground, looking up with an angry frown. Each figure has a name cartouche. The pigment on the background has oxidized, giving it a mottled tone. An unusual image, nicely detailed.
