Disagreement in Private Quarters, 1893 - Handsome kabuki scene showing a disagreement taking place in a beauty's private quarters. The elegant courtesan in the center gestures with a roll of tissues as she looks calmly at the seated man at right. He glares back at her with an angry frown, tugging on the white towel draped over his shoulder. Another couple watches from the left, the beauty looking up with a concerned expression, holding her hand out in a stopping motion. Her red robe features a striking design of colorful feathers. A stunning kimono hangs from a stand at right, patterned with a magnificent carp leaping up a waterfall. Beautiful detail in the sumptuously furnished room, which includes scrolls hanging in a niche and an elegant lacquer chest. A fine composition with lively color.
