Sukeroku Carrying an Umbrella, 1847 - 1852 - Nice full-length kabuki portrait of the otokodate or street knight Sukeroku carrying an umbrella with a snake eye pattern, looking over his shoulder with a frown. He wears a black kimono trimmed with rose and blue, and has a blue sash tied around his head. A stacking lacquer container called an inro hangs from his waist, and he is armed with a single sword. A few branches of cherry blossoms frame the scene. A handsome design.

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 3/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A couple small holes, repaired. Slight creasing, a few spots. Please see photos for details.
