Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

Mariko - Lovely winter view of Mariko under a heavy snowfall. The road through the village slants away to the left around a steep hill dotted with snow-covered trees, with tiny figures making their way past the houses. An attractive design, rarely seen in reprint, with fine bokashi shading and a dusting of mica along the top of the night sky.
