Worried Man Cradling a Baby, 1865

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of the man Tamajima Kihei cradling a baby to his chest, looking up with a worried expression as he waves a hand at the beauty at right. She smiles sweetly back at him as she holds a shamisen. A lamp rests on the floor in the middle of the room, and a chest at right holds stacks of books. From left, the actors are Ichikawa Kuzo III and Sawamura Tanosuke. Nice expressive figures in a handsomely detailed interior setting.

Artist - Kunisada II (1823 - 1880)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 19 1/2" + margins as shown
