Series; Night Wind and Whitecaps on the Open Sea

Iwai Hanshiro as Benten Kozo Kikunosuke - Terrific kabuki portrait of Iwai Hanshiro as bandit Benten Kozo Kikunosuke, disguised as a woman in a plot to extort money from a shopkeeper. He wears an informal kimono with a bold pattern of oversized iris blossoms, tied with a red tie-dyed obi, his hand resting atop the hilt of his sword. He looks over his shoulder with a rather surprised expression, loose hair framing his face and a dotted towel draped over his shoulder. Buildings and trees are silhouetted against the night sky. A handsome design with fine line work in his hair and soft bokashi shading in the background.

Image Size - 13 5/8" x 9 3/8" + top margin as shown
