Noble Couple and Young Samurai

Comments - Handsome kabuki scene of a young samurai confronting a nobleman and beauty in an elegant home. The angry warrior tosses one hand up into the air as he thrusts the other out in front of him, glaring over his shoulder at the nobleman. He regards him solemnly, gripping a naginata with both hands, his hair pulled back into a topknot tied with purple cord. The beauty smile at them both as she fans herself. She wears a lovely red outer robe patterned with large blossoms, her fan adorned with colorful ribbon streamers. Cherry blossoms frame the scene, and the open windows provide a view of a river beyond. A lively scene with large figures and vibrant color, nicely detailed with embossing in the nobleman's pale yellow kimono.
