The Tokugawa Shoguns, 1875

Comments - Handsome group portrait of the fifteen shoguns of the Tokugawa Shogunate. At top center, the first Shogun Ieyasu sits on a platform, wearing a black robe and tall court cap. a staff of office in his hand. The fifteenth and final Tokugawa Shogun, Yoshinobu, sits on a chair at lower right, wearing a purple jacket over a red button-front shirt tucked into green pants, and black boots. Two other figures wear armor, while the rest are attired in court clothing. Detailed with faint burnished patterns on some of the black and purple robes. A handsome depiction of this noble lineage, also in the collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. A few wormholes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details.
