Comments - Great kabuki portrait of Nakamura Shikan IV as the ronin Tazuna Komataro, who is actually Inada Kozo in disguise. He frowns angrily as he places his sword on the hem of a beauty's robe, his lips tightly pressed together. He wears a blue kimono with a burnished geometric pattern over a red under robe, his hair pulled back into a thick topknot. Behind him, an alcove holds a hanging scroll at left, and a low red lacquer table at right holds dishes of food. A handsome scene from the play "Kutsuwa no Oto Tazuna no Somewake."
