Series; Edo Brocade

Edo Brocade - Lovely design from Chikanobu's series "Edo Brocade," which depicts upper-class ladies enjoying a variety of refined pursuits, including writing poems, arranging flowers, celebrating holidays and festivals, enjoying visits from friends and family, and viewing flowers. The elegant kimono and obi fabrics and household furnishings are intricately detailed and colored. These attractive images are beautifully printed, with deluxe treatments such as embossing, burnishing, and the use of mica. Prints from this rarely seen series are a wonderful choice to collect or display.
