Shogun's Inspection of Ammunition Explosions Over Water - From one of the gate towers of Edo castle, the Shogun and his advisers observe the testing of munitions in nearby Edo Bay. The circular inset shows the launch tower for the explosives, with a paper lantern bearing the inscription "official use." Plumes of smoke fill the sky over the water, with observers below watching from boats. A dramatic composition with beautiful architectural detail in the tile roof and fish roof ornaments. A spectacular design from this series.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three attached panels. Vertical folds. Loss and thinning at edge, repaired. Creasing, wrinkling, slight toning and soiling, a couple small marks. Please see photos for details.
