Takegawa, Chapter 44: Sakingo Ashikaga Yorikane - Dramatic portrait of the daimyo Sakingo Ashikaga Yorikane with his sword in hand just after he has murdered his lover, the Yoshiwara courtesan Takao. Yorikane had been neglecting his duties and spending too much time with Takao, so one of his servants convinced her to break off their affair. Enraged and humiliated, he killed the beauty. A few strands of her long dark hair drop from his fingers as he grimaces, perhaps just realizing the full impact of what he has done. Dark misty clouds drift before the moon above, and a few scattered papers blow in the wind. A fantastic image with a beautifully expressive face.
