Writing Poem Slips - Attractive scene of upper-class beauties writing poem slips. The woman at right leans forward as she carefully mixes ink on an ink stone, a small pitcher of water nearby. The beauty at left holds a poem slip, looking at it with an eager smile. The woman in the center wears a beautiful outer kimono shaded from purple to white to yellow, patterned with cherry blossoms and falling petals, a royal carriage, and a nobleman's hat. The screen at right features a design of koi or carp in a pond, framed with a decorative geometric border. A lovely design, beautifully colored and detailed, with delicate embossing in the white kimono trim and burnishing in the black lacquer table.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three attached panels, backed with paper. Small tear at edge, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few spots, slight curling at sides.
