Lucky Gods Ebisu and Daikoku Counting Money, 1887 - Charming lithograph print depicting Ebisu and Daikoku, two of Japan's beloved Seven Lucky Gods, in a storehouse counting money. At left, Daikoku uses an abacus, grinning as he looks up. His never-ending sack of treasure rests on the floor behind him, with his magic mallet atop a straw-wrapped bale of rice. At right, Ebisu traces writing in an account book, stacks of coins and bills on the floor nearby. A large safe can be seen behind him at upper right. Coloring added by hand. Please note, this is a lithograph, not a woodblock print. A nicely detailed image.
