Lord Mashiba Hisayoshi Subjugates Korea, 1862 - Handsome early Yoshitoshi scene of Lord Mashiba Hisayoshi's (the real-life Toyotomi Hideyoshi's) troops battling Koreans during the Seven Years War. At top right, Kato Kiyomasa charges the enemy on horseback with his spear thrust out before him, his foes tumbling over themselves as they attempt to escape. Reeds grow along the edge of a moat below, with mountains lining the horizon. An interesting early Yoshitoshi subject.
